Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take a deposit?
I usually ask for a £10 deposit or 20% with remainder of payment on collection/delivery.
Do you offer wedding cake samples?
qSamples are available on request after a wedding cake consultation. I usually do cupcakes, a box of 12 with 6 flavours for £30. Of this, £15 will be taken off the final balance if a wedding cake is ordered.
Do you cater for free from and intolerances?
All free from and intolerances can be catered for, just make sure you let me know. Gluten free, egg free, soya free, nut free, dairy free, vegan and at no extra charge.
How long will the cakes last?
All cakes are freshly baked and you will be advised upon ordering.
Cakes covered in fondant last longer than those that are not. Fondant cakes should be stored covered in a cool room, not refrigerated. Property stored can still be enjoyed 5 days later.
Naked and semi naked cakes should be good for up to 3 days stored covered.
Fresh fruit and fresh cream cakes should be eaten within 2 days kept refrigerated.
How big are the cakes?
My standard cakes are at least 4” tall, with layers of sponge. If you require extra tall, they are approximately 6” tall.
What size cakes can you make?
Round cakes from 5”, (4” can be baked but they are a lot shorter in height than standard.
I can bake up to 12” cakes.
I do prefer cakes from 5” to 9” as anything larger usually takes longer to cook and may dry out on the edges.
How many people do the cakes serve?
I usually say a 6” round cake serves 12 good sized pieces. 7” round around 20 servings and 8” round cake approximately 24-28.
What if there is a flavour or design i can't see on your website?
Anything is possible! Just let me know wat flavour or design you would like.
